Karihi, Toa of Uranium . New Toa! .
Alignment: Toa, CoT
Titles: Toa, The Lone Toa, The Engineer
Mask: Miru-Shaped Mask of Biomechanics
Weapons: Double Scimitars (x2), wrist-mounted lasers and launchers, finger blades
Karihi spent his youth in Le-Koro, where he became its mechanic/engineer. He spent countless hours alone in his workshop working on repairing or inventing new things. He did everything alone, partly because he wanted to, but partly because he had to. When he spent too much time with someone else they often had the tendency to fall ill. As a result, he did everything alone and spent his time building things like robot to spend time with. In his free time, he liked to explore or tinker.
One day, a meteroid impacted near Le-Koro and Karihi was the first to explore it. In the center of the crater, their was a glowing stone that radiated power. Karihi wanted to research the stone and possibly use it to power some of his inventions. He grabbed the stone. Energy coursed into him and he was knocked unconscious. When he awoke, he was shocked to see that he had become a Toa. However, he didn't become a Toa of Air that everyone had expected. His element was unknown to all, even himself. He quickly set about running a series of tests to determine his element. After the tests, he concluded that he had gained power over technology since he could power his inventions using his powers. This pleased himself and the other villagers. He returned to his previous role, but planned more ambitious inventions.
In the testing of one of his new security drones in a deserted field away from the village due to possible danger, disaster struck. On the first test, the drone malfunctioned. Karihi became greatly upset and attempted to solve the problem using his powers. Instead of repairing the drone, he accidentally transformed it into a small nuclear bomb. The explosion was seen by the village and Matoran were sent to investigate. Upon arrival, they found a giant crater and a greatly damaged Karihi, who only survived due to resistance granted by his powers and the will of the Great Spirit. While being nursed back to health, it was discovered that the Matoran who were sent to the crater had died from radiation. However, Karihi survived. Through this, Karihi's actual element was discovered.
After being nursed back to health, the village decided to banish him because they believed he was too dangerous. He wandered the continent, controlling his powers and tinkering. He also helped Matoran that in trouble when he encountered them. He lived this lifestyle until Makuta's takeover.
Within the robot, Karihi escaped and tried to disable the robot. He was unable to use his powers due to the danger it presented to the captured Matoran. Instead, he resulted in using his Kanohi to disrupt some of the robot's systems. After the Battle, Karihi assisted in the liberation of the Matoran and rebuilding. Afterwards, he resumed life as the Lone Toa.
Years passed until he was contacted by the newly-formed Council of Toa for his technical prowess. He joined its ranks and became its Chief Engineer. He conducted all his experiments and work in an isolated laboratory. Within this, he built a set of armor that would prevent radiation to others, at a cost of weakening his own powers. He finally got to work with a team, although he still often worked solo. He later joined a specialty team of Toa under the name of the Toa Ropu.
Karihi: Meet some of my drones!
Usage: security, demolition, firepower
Usage: reconaissance, aerial attacks
Height comparison with Tarshduk
(I will post Tarshduk V8 later, don't worry)
Assistance drone: Ooooooooo
Builder's notes: This is the 2nd time I've written this due to timing out on the first one and not saving :P The build was challenging mostly due to the strict color scheme. Uranium is
silvery gray metallic and glows green under UV light in things like Uranium glass, so that became the color scheme. This led to complications but also new designs as well. He is the shortest of all of my recent builds. His name comes from the Maori word for nuclear, Karihi.
