Crusaders Noir Outpost . "No Place Like Home" . Bio: There are few full scale headquarters for the Crusaders and prefer to make small outposts to manage areas. These outposts mainly serve to gather information on the immediate area and can be a source of stocked ammunition and fuel so that Crusaders in the field can always go to one of these outposts and restock. They're usually open-top structures with a second level gangway to allow elevated viewing of the area and usually serve as the post for a Sniper unit. At one end of the gangway is a communications array that links to a tactical holo-table below to shot both standard data and also deliver holographic viewing of the data. The outposts utilise DNA scanning for access into these places aswel as laser defences for the entrance. If the scan checks all clear, then the laser beams will be deactivated and allow entrance. The main defence for the outposts are a pair of turrets usually stationed in-front of the structure. They are twin-unit bio-mechs that were created from the same piece of sentient flesh so they are tuned to each other and work more efficiently than standard bio-mechs. The outposts, although being small fortifications for troops, actually serve a higher purpose. Their primary means is to function as a large scale data-collection and mapping network. Each outpost is run automatically on long-lasting power reserves that only need changing every few years and each outpost is connected to another through the communications array over vast areas to send and receive data. This not only increases the efficiency of the data collection process but acts as a hive mind which increases the Crusaders tactics and overal efficiency as a military organisation by gathering all data of everything in the outposts range but each outpost is always within reach of another so in essence, the Crusaders have 100% coverage of any land with outposts in it. Comments: So I went and did something I probably shouldn't have and did some sort of building structure which as you can blatantly see is so simple a toddler could've done it. It's basically done to take away from just the minifig units and the separate tech they use to make them more grounded as a military force by giving them some fortification. I do like this moc despite the simplicity though and the extras that came with the moc because first it was just going to be the 3 walls and a gangway and that would be basically it. But then I added this whole front section with some vegetation and put in some defence turrets which adds to the aesthetics aswel as increasing Crusaders tech. The little repair drone is admittedly distantly inspired by the Star-Wars droid of similar design and adds another small touch to it. The DNA hand scanner idea came from playing too much [PROTOTYPE]2 where every base has them on the front gate aswel as the doors to the actual buildings themselves. I just liked that style of added security measures so incorporated it here, albeit very vaguely. So this is more or less my official crack at some sort of building and again I know it's ludicrously simple which is why it'll probably be the only one.
