Optimus Prime - 2014 G1 Reboot . G1 Autobot Leader ..Optimus Prime is back with a vengeance.... . After more than 4 years since my original, public domain LDD Optimus Prime , hit the net, and since its been copied and plagiarized to death over the years, I decided its a new year and its time for a reboot of my favourite character in Lego..... G1 Optimus Prime. This reboot was inspired by the original G1 Transformers Cartoon (note the light blue opaque windshield). I wanted to make the wheels hidden in robot mode like the cartoon and keep the general chunkiness of my bot style. I also kept the joints to ball and cup type as I am thinking I may get around to creating some stop motion animation this year. I am very happy with this build. He is about 10" tall, a smidge shorter than his papa and about and inch shorter than my Ultimate Version - Optimus Prime Model . The model has great poseability, sturdiness and stability and gave me a chance to incorporate building tricks and techniques I did not possess at the time of the original release. This design will not be released freely into the net this time, so if interested in a clone of this model (build to order), or design files to be drawn up please email me at bwtmtbrickworks@gmail.com for a quote. Watch the video Review on Youtube for more insight into this model and how it transforms! Vehicle Mode... Robot Mode... 2009 vs. 2014... Render...
