Fenrek V4 . "From the ashes of defeat" . Story: "Surrounded by countless callous being bent on his destruction for hunting them down, Fenrek was, for the first time in his life........afraid. A new emotion that he had never felt before, the feeling of fear had overwhelmed him with all odds against his survival. They tore him apart, limb from limb, servo from servo, his dismembered limbs spraying coolant and vital fluid everywhere as his body was destroyed, his mind slowly faded to black as the sands of time covered his crippled and tortured body. Some time had past, many years before a scavenger came across his body, uncovered by a large sandstorm that both covered many things in sand, but also revealed hidden secrets with it's powerful winds. Taken back to an unknown place, the scavenger found that this being was still alive, albeit at the lowest stage of life. Being both a benevolent being and an engineer, the scavenger sought to return this being to life, but this body wouldn't do. By keeping Fenrek's base parts for construction and his mind on a form of life support system, he began the arduous task that would consume months of his time by buying and scavenging parts to rebuild the being to a functional state. Over a year had passed and the new body was compete, the head was attached and all that remained was for the form to literally 'reboot'. Being a techno-organic, the hardest part was wiring organic parts so that the nervous system was complete, now the tech of his form needed to be activated. During this activation system, the scavengers home was attacked by 3 other scavengers. Whereas Fenrek's saviour was a kind hearted being, these new scavengers were ruthless beings who only sought resources for themselves and destroyed all in their way. What these beings didn't discover however was that a slumbering titan was waking up in the very next room, and not one of a pleasant temperament neither. With the scavenger moments away from being slaughtered, Fenrek rose from his slumber and bellowed at the intruders before proceeding to take them apart, piece from piece. His mind consumed by memories of his own torment and demise. Splattered with coolant, he walked to his saviour and thanked the kindly being for his aid and vowed to repay him someday. With that, Fenrek left into a sandstorm and faced the power which would normally strip paint from alloy and annihilate optical sensors, but his new body was a match and he strode out into the storm, consumed by revenge and rage." The MOC: Full on frontal shot of the moc. Just love the full-view. The legs were done first on this moc and a WIP shot of them was posted around various sites before hand. The haven't changed much since that but have become a bit bulkier and the feet have been broadened to match. The rear of the lower legs, with the plating and colour nodules is actually inspired by the character Grimlock from the game Transformers: Fall Of Cybertron. The body went through a number of designs where I used the HF torso attachment (clip on chest piece) the normal way up but as you can see here, it is actually upside down which is new for me as I wouldn't normally think of flipping it but it definitely works to great effect here. The upper arms are again a nod to the Fall Of Cybertron game where the characters tended to have large shoulders in their design so I wanted to incorporate that aswel. The nodules on the back of the legs show much more clearly here. The back was a major pain and also went through various versions before settling on the current one. I could just never get the form I wanted as previous versions were flat against the back and didn't work with the forward pushed chest. As with more recent mocs, Fenrek has a fully custom head behind the mask. The orange vents on either side are slightly hidden under the sides of the mask but the majority of their size shows still so it's almost integrated in appearance. I had a trans-green sword design memorised that I made about a week ago but had no moc to use it on. I feel that it was decent here so I get to give him a large sword as a melee weapon, and show off a new design. It's nothing special but I don't really make custom melee weapons so it's usually experimental. The grenade launcher is a weapon I chose as it takes him back to his roots. The first incarnation/version of Fenrek had a grenade launcher as his weapon so I thought it'd work here. He looks ungainly aiming it though so here he just has it stowed. The launcher on it's own. Many suggested Fenrek take up a hobby to be more productive than destructive. He found a passion for the banjo. Fenrek is now quite skilled but early on, he often has to deal with various critics. Usually about how he put in so much effort but still sounded terrible at the time. Criticism wasn't taken very well. Ever been beaten over the head with a banjo? The Banjo. Comments: Overal I think this makes for the best Fenrek yet. The first and second variants were ok for the time and the original will always have a place for being the first version. The 3rd version titled Fenrek 'The Rogue' got praise due to being an overal stockier design but also that I made his nemesis Jester at the same time, but his form as I said was 'stocky' in the short sense and the shoulders were far too broad, enhancing his shorter stature. This new form of Fenrek will most likely not be the last and at some point in the future I'll probably upgrade him yet again but for now, I feel that with the imposing appearance, more realistic proportionality and being basically 100% custom even the head, this takes top spot for my Self-Moc and I hope that all those viewing this would agree too.
