TAS Scarlet Airship . The Scarlet is a unique war machine, a concept never seen before. It is big, it is fast and it is though. . Some things may seem futuristic. It was made for Divide and Conquer II Diary of the TAS Scarlet: April 28, 2013, 4:00 pm: After a month of succesful engine and weapon tests the Scarlet was ready to fly for its first time. No major problems happened during the flight. Currently it's over its 20th flight and it will enter service in the next few days. Its maximum speed currently is 850km/h at an altitude of 20km, although it may be faster at higher altitudes. Tomorrow it will fly at 25km for the first time, but the Scarlet is combat ready. This majestic piece of machinery possesses reduced stealth capability. However, it can be spotted at 150km but its guns have greater range than that. April 30, 2013, 5:50 pm: The Scarlet's flight at 25km was succesful. Its top speed was 950km/h. It is now ready to be deployed. And now here is the Scarlet 2 and a half months later, ready to rule the airspace of New Babylon. WARNING! Boring statistics ahead: Power source: 2 Expreimental Fusion Reactor Propulsion: Supersonic rotor blades powered by eectric engines Armament: -1 381mm railgun (mach 15) -2 203mm coilguns (mach 10) -4 152mm coilguns -10 105mm rapid fire coilguns (80 round/min) -1 76mm rapi fire coilgun (120 round/min) -256 AA missile -20 Turul anti-ship missile -10 Kilo defensive laser turrets Avionics: -2 mid range radars -1 AWACS radar -1 ground radar -1 long range communicator First a 360 view. Yaay! Play feature! It can land! :D A close-up on the right side crew’s quarter and the greebles. To the right of the picture, we can see one of the 4 radars of the Scarlet. That’s my first attempt to include greebles on a MOC, although nota as good as Mastermind xD On the other side, it’s a bit different. However, it still has the crew’s quarter and radar, plus the long range communicator dome. This is the part that all enemy should avoid, the main guns. 2 swiveling 203mm coil-guns and a fixed 381mm railgun. Note that these are extremely big and long guns. The speed of the projectile in the 203mm is mach 10, while the 381mm is even mor brutal, mach 15. Above them, 2 of the 10 rapid-fire 105mm turrets can be seen. This is the gun deck. The small black turrets on each side of the secondary bridge are Kilo defensive laser turrets, these are used to shoot down jets and any projectile that could harm the Scarlet. A dual 105mm turret is located before the AA missiles (256). On each side of them there is a dual 152mm coilgun turret. This is the main bridge/escape pod. It has a rapid fire 76mm. Also, the Turul missie launcher rails can be seen here (the minifig hands) The rear houses the two massive thrusters with thrust-vectroing. Who said only fighter jets can have it?:D Oh, and there are two other 105mm rapid-fire turrets, so it can engage anyone if it attacks from the rear. The bottom is just as interesting as the top. Let’s get a closer. The massive main guns can be seen here, along with another 2 105mm guns for ground support, 2 Kilo laser turrets, a ground radar, which is essential during landing and the engine gondolas have thrust vectoring too. These are the main engines that keep the Scarlet in the air. An AWACS radar is located in the back. Originally, there was a dual 15 inch turret, but I decided to reduce her weaponry as it missed a long range radar. Crew can access the ship through this hatch and can refill the supplies too. This is my favorite feature, the birdge can act as an escape pod if everything goes bad. It has enough space for the whole crew. 4th wall: This was actually made about a month ago or even more, but uploading a real MOC is harder than an LDD. Thanks for viewing!
