VAAM3 (Versatile Armored Assault Mech Mark 3) . . With the recent announcement of the video game Titanfall, I was inspired to build a mech similar to the ones shown in the game. So, some of those features made it into this MOC, other features were of my own design, and others, such as the rocket launcher pod, were directly taken from my old mech designs. Mark 3 is a reference to this being my third generation of mechs. They are not generally something I do, so my last decent ones were based on the Exo-Force ball joint system, which was unsightly in my opinion. On this I opted to construct a joint system based on hook pieces and their connectors. Good thing I have a big pile of them, because there are a ton in this model.. The hips and shoulders use the Bionicle ball joint for more flexibility but every other joint is made from hooks and rods. The feet are on a technic pin, needed so that the feet can balance. This was something I did keep from the Exo-Force build. I could talk about this more but I think that the photos explain themselves! And be sure to watch the trailer for Titanfall so you can see where I gathered inspiration. (the cockpit design was probably one of the bigger inspirations)
