Reduction gearing 1:4096 ratio, 3x5x5 studs . Compact (3x5x5 studs) set of 4 worm gears with 1:4096 gearing ratio . Visit my Lego helicopters blog In high-end helicopter model designs (and any other complex machines) we need lot of power functions: actuate controls, rotate gun turrets, actuate flaps, drive rescue winches, retract/open landing gear, etc. In RC models usually these are performed by small sized servo motors, including electric motor, reduction gearing, safety switches, and ocassionally positions sensor in one self-contained unit. Here, we show an example of a compact (3x5x5) set of 4 worm gears with 1:4096 gearing ratio to convert ordinary Lego PF M-sized motor into a servo with exact positioning (11.37 rotations of black axis moves 1 degree the gray lever). This can be used as a replacement whenever Lego PF servo motor is not available.
