Galactic Gunship . A pretty cool spaceship, and a decent model for one outside my comfort zone. .
compared to a minifigure. This is my longest creation to date.
This is also modular! The four modules are (from left to right) the control room, the power core, the cannon bay, and the engine.
First, the control room.
The roof comes off for playability :D Also note the seams on the roof where it has been "repaired".
Inspiration for this came from the blue domes you'll see later and these walkway pieces. Also check out those sophisticated 2x2 slopes they've got there :D
the power core module. It also has the main turret, because the energy is right there. A few people can get inside at a time (based on the scale, which is neither minifig nor microfig scale).
Not the roof, but the sides come off. You can kind of see the power core inside.
A technique I saw on one of those massive, six-foot ships someone made. Ribbed hoses with the 10x10 plates with the mesh pattern looks like supply pipes, which is really cool.
Next, the cannon bay. To enemies, it looks like this ship has one nicely sized turret and two rear lasers, but little do they know...
"Attack!"
"Yes sir! Wait, captain, what's happening?"
"What?"
"Those red things coming out. What are the-"
"GET US OUT OF HERE! NOW!"
This roof also comes off for playability. All of the cannons slide in and out, hinge up and down, and have rotating barrels.
Lastly, the engine module. Note the rear-facing laser cannons. I'm very proud of how this turned out, even though it was by complete chance. I was going to make a normal, boring, square engine with four of those domes...
...but when I looked in the box those go in and there were only three. So, I came up with this complex, awesome-looking tri-engine. When I explained to my brother why I made it have three instead of four, he looked back in the box and pulled out a fourth.
Derp.
Epic forward facing shot. Enjoy!
