Hero Factory Brain Attack Review #8: Scarox . Finishing the Brain Attack Wave 1 reviews with the villain Scarox! He is set #44003, with 46 pieces. . Now, lets take a look at the parts, one last time: For bone pieces, we have one narrow torso piece, two regular upper limb pieces in grey, six regular lower limb pieces, two single socket connectors, two black Bionicle Piraka feet and one trans medium green skull. Armour includes one regular chest piece in black, four size 3 armour pieces in black, two size 4 armour pieces in gold and Scarox's mask. Extra pieces include four gold "Ordeal of Fire" blade pieces, two trans medium green "Savage Planet" claw pieces, one medium green Brain Parasite and a bunch of little pieces. It may be worth noting that this is the same colour Brain Parasite which is the Brain Attack logo. Anyway, on to the set: Here is Scarox in all his... eh... 'glory', if you would see those words fitting. Obviously, the idea of this was to make a small, fearocious looking thing that would look generally creepy. I think that the designers were successful. Despite it's flaws, it definately looks creepy, and generally nasty. Like Bruizer, this guy also has a mechanism on the back. Also like Bruizer, the mechanism looks really horrible. I can't see why the designers can't keep it all in one colour, and just leave out all of those red pieces. Also, the fact that the leaver sticks out really far to the side means you can see it from the front, as well. This just ruins the whole set to me. And it's not like the Mechanism actually works either. Because of that thing called gravity, it doesn't make the upper arms move forward, like it was intended to, it just means if you move the set too far back, the arms just droop down like so. It would have been so much better if the designers had just made them regular arms with a full ball and socket connection. One of my main gripes with this set is the arms. If this character is an insectoid, then surely he should have long, thin arms? It's not a characteristic of a spider-like creature to have short, stubby arms. it also makes him look less intimidating. The head is a nice feature to this set. It's something new, and it looks rather origional. It's also the first gold villain mask that we've had since Brutaka, and even he wasn't entirely evil. The only problem is that the fangs look a little wierd, and not a part of the set. But the thing is that if you turn them so that they face up, they still look awkward. I think that if the clips were on the sides, and these were made into pincers instead, then it would have been better. The biggest problem is the legs. An insectiod creature should not have humanoid legs. It just makes the set look wierd, and an odd mesh of the two structures which doesn't work very well. The bare grey bone pieces ruin the colour scheme a little, too. Phew, glad that's over. I'm going to rate this set in three different catogories; Toy value (how good it is to play with and pose ect.), Design Value (The design, including the colour scheme and how it was built) and Moccist Value (The amount of good pieces). Here are Scarox's results; Toy Value: 2/5 Design Value: 1/5 Moccist Value: 2/5 Overall Value: 5/15 Well, that's all! All of the wave one Brain Reveiws are complete! You'll be seeing more MOCs and things from me, but for reviews, I suspect there won't be a review until summer. Hope you enjoyed them, and see ya them. Also, as a little Bonus, I got a free Legends of Chima promo set; Ewar's Acro Fighter. It's a nice little compact set, good for a promo and such, and yeah. I'm not going to review it or anything, I just thought I'd throw it in, in case any Chima fans happen to stumble across this page...
