Why?
Bofors 40mm Heavy AA Machinegun (Updated Photos) . . My take on the Bofors E/L70 40. I admit, i got lazy when it came to accuracy but i am quite pleased with the end result anyway. A series of updated photos have been added near the bottom of the page. Close-up of the crew platform. The computer to the right is for targeting. I will probably change that to a more discrete system later. To the left are racks for ammunition. These were supposed to hold 4-piece bandoliers but i had neither parts nor patience to figure a more accurate solution for the racks or the ammunition. A closer look at the front. The radar is inspired by one seen on a tank elsewhere on MOCpages. The two cylinders below the gun are pistons for raising the gun. The eject-port i opted to leave out. Elevation range of the gun. The real E/L70 40 can achieve negative angle too and can thus be used to combat ground targets as well as air targets. The weapon towed behind the 4WD from the 4433 set. Updated Photos: As per popular suggestion, the wheels and the targeting computer has been updated and supports have been added. I'm not entirely pleased with the wheels, but that will have to wait until i get hold of more standard City-wheels. Below is a photo of the real Bofors E/L70 40 and a link to a video of it in use. For some reason i can't embed the video anymore. Air Defense Shoot Thanks for watching :-)
