MELO Round 1: The Death of Boromir . . Hello everyone, here's my entry for the Middle Earth LEGO Olympics. I chose to depict Boromir's death, mostly to try out some landscaping techniques. Due to laziness artiness I did not replicate the scene from the film but instead melded my memory of it with that of the book to create my masterpiece. Lurtz aims a final arrow at Boromir. The swarm of Uruk-Hai. Another factor which influenced my choice of scene was the abundance of Saruman-branded Uruk-Hai which I wanted to use in something. Boromir lies in blood-stained undergrowth. As for the normal undergrowth, I was inspired by Mark Erickson to return to multi-layer foliage building. A darker image, befitting the death of a (sometimes) honourable warrior. Or befitting the death of Lurtz, if you prefer the Uruk-Hai to Boromir... Or perhaps the rage of Aragorn? Anyway, enough of my rambling - thanks for stopping by!
