MO Round 7 : Tom Remy Vs Heath Flor – Duel at the Tower Gate . My entry for the 2012 MocOlympics Round 7 .
The link to the 2012 MocOlympics…
The Home of Heath Flor, my esteemed opponent. Good luck to you – but not too much ! ;)
Build us a battle between two mages of the mystic arts. Be sure to include their magical "effects" as they throw spells with wanton abandon.
I believe I wasn’t at my best from the beginning of this round, and then I caught a big cold… But let’s not underrate myself, that’s your job, you judges! (Just kiddin’ Ok? :P)
Ok, it’s one MOC but it’s also a little story. After my microscale entry, I wanted to include as many play features as I could. In the “set” spirit, it’s also reasonably sturdy (but obviously doesn’t meet TLC’s standards in any way!)
* * *
Once upon a time, in the Barren Lands of the North, there was a City ruled by the evil Air Mage Zess.
For decades he oppressed the citizens, casting deadly spells from the Tower Gate, his den and laboratory.
Zess: “The fluids are troubled… Someone is coming!”
But his nemesis, the Earth Sorcerer Kohntark, was lurking from the depth.
“My Magic Globe brought me to the right cave…”
“Look out, Zess! Here I come!!”
“I challenge you! He who survives this fight will rule the City!”
Zess: “First you’ll have to face the White Shadow!” A guard opened the portcullis...
White Shadow, the keeper of the Tower Gate, slowly stepped out of the dungeon.
Kohntark: “O Forces of the Underworld, release the Black Cloud!”
Black Cloud, the Snake-Centipede slave of Kohntark, crept out of a dark tunnel.
A fierce fight began…
“Hum… That’s NOT Hogwarts’ ladies rooms…”
… But soon the creatures killed each other.
Kohntark: “Let’s get rid of you! Swird-Sworl!!”
But failed spells can have unexpected side effects…
Zess: “Mwa-ha-haa!! You can’t cast spells if you can’t spell them right! SWORD-SWIRL!!”
Kohntark: ”GIMME SHELTER!!”
A few spells later, the two wizards decided to fight bare hands.
Kohntark: “Metamorphosis! Green Machine & Red Nightmare!!”
Zess: “Purple Haze & Pink Steam!!”
The mages had turned into hideous monsters, ready to tear each other into pieces…
In their merciless struggle, the two titans rolled in the torrent. It is said that their fight lasts forever, in the depths of the Cold Ocean…
… But on the battlefield, only their bodies remained…
… And soon turned to dust.

And so the people of the City were set free from the Mages’ dark oppression. They had a big feast on the battlefield, and decided they would rule themselves without magic, cosmic or godly influence…
The feast lasted long, because Christmas was coming, as well as the end of the MocOlympics!

Commentary : Not much to say, except it was really tough… Three months of intense building finally found me tired of Lego (not for long, don’t worry!) and a little out of ideas… I hope I’ve come up with something worth of a Final Round!
Also, there are nine song titles in the text… Can you spot them all?
I’m very very glad to have come this far whatever the outcome may be. I wish every one of you a happy Christmas, with lots of Lego of course! I’m so eager to know what the prizes are! Thanks to Brickworld, Dave Kaleta and Yuri Fassio, you are wonderful! Thanks to all the MocPages people, the judges and admins of the MocOlympics, you guys do a fantastic job. Thanks everyone for viewing and especially the judges! Good luck again Heath!
Happy Christmas everybody! See you soon…
