"It Wasn't Me" . Quoth Horatio... . This is Shakespeare's "Hamlet" in a single dio. Horatio alone stands with the bodies of all of the other main characters strewn about him. Rather awkward, that.
One of the more gruesome builds I've done, this diorama is something I've wanted to build for quite some time. The play needs some serious levity.
The shape of the throne room was the most difficult part to build. Trapezoids are not friendly to Lego, and there is some undue stress on some of the walls. The shape, though, does suggest more of a "stage-like" presentation. It was a rectangle originally, but it was terribly ugly, so I spent a few more hours opening up the front. The result is far more aesthetically pleasing.
Horatio, a bit perturbed.
HAMLET:
So tell him, with th' occurrents, more and less,
Which have solicited - the rest is silence.
[Dies]
LAERTES:
Exchange forgiveness with me, noble Hamlet.
Mine and my father's death come not upon thee,
Nor thine on me!
[Dies]
CLAUDIUS:
O, yet defend me, friends. I am but hurt.
[Dies]
QUEEN:
No, no, the drink, the drink! O my dear Hamlet!
The drink, the drink! I am poisoned!
[Dies]
HAMLET [draws]:
How now? a rat? Dead for a ducat, dead!
[Makes a pass through the arras and kills Polonius]
POLONIUS [behind]:
O, I am slain!
QUEEN: One woe doth tread upon another's heel,
So fast they follow. Your sister's drowned, Laertes.
LAERTES: Drowned! O, where?
AMBASSADOR:
To tell him his commandment is fulfilled,
That Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are dead.

Rosencrantz and Guildenstern's characters in this build are largely influenced by Tom Stoppard's "Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead." It's a brilliant parody of "Hamlet," and I highly recommend reading it.
