With blinding-bright light and a thunderous crash, the gates to the fiery underworld are burst through and a heavenly force descends upon the burning, charred demons’ lair.
With sweeping wings and scintillating swords, the fighting force of Righteousness and Light attacks the flaming black masses underneath clouds of fire and a scarlet sky.
As they pour through the portal into hell, the very ground splashes into pure white under their feet.
The demons that inhabit this wretched place are driven back by the onslaught of the Righteous.
Pools of lava gush with flame from the blistered ground as the defenders of the underworld scramble to the gate.
Swords drawn, the angels rush into the midst of the worst place imaginable… bent on conquest and victory!
The head demons are not willing to concede defeat so easily, they lash out at their foes… but the underlings are far quicker to flee.
Dragons crawl through the oily black sludge and flames, hissing in fear when they behold the attacking angels.
An archdemon rushes through the searing flames.
In a world of pure evil, Good prevails!

FOURTH WALL COMMENTARY
Let’s see… where shall I start?
Well, the category would not be my first choice! In fact, it’d probably be the last thing I’d build besides steampunk and ma.ks. But I decided to give it my best shot and go for it, as much as I disliked the idea of having “H.e. double hockey sticks” and darkness being glorified.
However, once again, my family presented me with a brilliant idea. Have the underworld being overthrown! *light-bulb*.
Liven up the scene with some conflict and contrast! Always a good idea, in my opinion.
If I was to build HE-double hockey sticks, I decided I’d show the gates. It also provided a great opportunity for unusual lighting effects. Those transparent clouds in the backdrop are, of course, inspired by Leda Kat, my previous opponent – I try to learn from my experiences.
I’m hoping the judges are not upset by my slight twist on the category – I think everyone views things in their own original way, and this is just my example.
I was most happy with how the angels’ wings came out! I spent several hours working on those boogers. :P Then my sister gave me the key advice of having them point up instead of down… which made all the difference.
I used almost every single flame piece in my collection!
