MIT Round 1: Lego Builder Senior vs. Justin Knelsen - Night Falls . Category: End of the World! Build a MOC depicting how the world we know might come to it's untimely end. Upon learning of the category assigned, I spent several days thinking of something that would fit the category, having little time to actually build anything. Originally, I thought about building a scene from War of the Worlds, which is the classic story of how the world might end. But after my opponent built his MOC with a similar approach, I decided to scrap the idea. After some panic, I finally was able to construct my entry. . "He went to the door and they all followed him. He raised his head and roared, "Now it is time!" then louder, "Time!"; then so loud that it could have shaken the stars, "TIME". The Door flew open." C.S. Lewis describes the end of Narnia in great detail. Might not our world end in a similar way? My worthy opponent and his entry Link to the MIT This build is based on The Last Battle, the 7th and final book in The Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis. If you have not read this, I would highly recommend doing so as it is the final chapter in the story of the magical land of Narnia and of the Lion who rules and governs it. Forced perspective is a main technique in my entry. And because of it, only one photo is necessary. Notice the shooting stars and the water pouring out of the ground. This scene depicts the land of Narnia coming to an end. The Time Giant is destroying the land at Aslan's command and the Kings and Queens are watching as "Night Falls on Narnia" through a doorway. This MOC was based of this illustration by Pauline Baynes in the book. Here is a shot of the build from a different angle. Thanks to the judges and may the best build win!
