M.O. Round 2- Josh B. vs Raphael Heusser: "Forgotten" . You may have been thinking I wouldn't get my entry in, weren't you? No. A wizard is never late. My entry for Round 2 of the MOColympics for the category 'Kind of a strange old hermit: Build us some sort of dwelling in a far off setting where someone has chosen to live outside of regular human contact. Is it a cabin in the woods, a tree house mansion, a cave dwelling, a tunnel system dug under the desert? Show us a place where “regular people” just don’t normally choose to live but some do.'
Enjoy. . MOColympics Homepage
Mr. Heusser's sexy entry
There was once a man, a quite curious lad,
He was kind of odd, and often quite sad.
He went through his days as any other would,
But the people around him did not see him as they should.
For he was never cared for, never noticed,
And he most definitely knew this.
Well one day he knew what had to do, he felt especially low,
So he fell into a world where things lost and ignored go.
He slipped into a place full of junk covered in rust,
Where buildings stood broken and the ground seeped with dust.
Through the land flowed a river, the color of blood
Here lost souls reached from waves in the pitiful flood.
The man saw these poor souls and felt wholly depressed,
And he decided that perhaps he should lead them to rest.
So here he resides alone, all joy been surrendered,
Ferrying the lost to once more be remembered.
And to this day he waits in the cold, trying to cope,
But nevertheless he still has some hope.
That maybe, someone else may come here alone and haunted
And together they may find love
and again be wanted...
Quick Commentary:
When I saw this category, a few words popped into my head when I thought of a hermit. 'Lost' 'Alone' 'Forgotten' 'Unwanted'... as I imagine a hermit as a very deeply sad and forgotten person, someone who lives in solitude because they don't belong anywhere else. I decided that I should take a more artistic and imaginary approach to the setting, and I thought up a place such as this, a place where forgotten things disappear. Thank you for viewing everyone, and good luck to my opponent.
