Why?
Lego Downtown Museum . I created a downtown museum to house a few of my mounting collection of historical minifigs. Next door is a small Mom & Pop Grocer with upstairs apartments (I'll post details on this one at a later time). . I am starting to use the larger gray base plates for our town. They are large enough to fit one corner building, one large and one small building, or three small buildings. It also has enough room for a modest two lane road. When I initially built the Mom & Pop Downtown Grocer - I ran out of red bricks, so I did a couple of billboard ads. I do have a MOC McDonalds, but it still needs a bit of work. Royal guards watch the entrance while two more wait inside - the museum has a special royal visitor. Close-up shot on the details on the second story. Man from the power company checking the meters. Wal-Mart had a sale on some old Lego Nintendo DS cases. I managed to pick it up for about $7.00 US. I used it as a billboard either advertising a movie or a future historical pirate exhibit. I also pick up a few Ramses Pyramid games for about $7.00 US each. It has a lot of great pieces plus the sandy base plate.
