Old Rural Church . An old rural church common to what you can find in Tennessee. This one is modeled after one in Cades Cove. . It's very common in the rural areas of Tennessee and other southern and Appalachian states to see these old, one room church buildings out in the countryside. This particular model was inspired by a historic Methodist church in Cades Cove, which is near Gatlinburg in the Appalachian Mountains of east Tennessee. It looks very similar to a historic Baptist church in the same area, but you can tell them apart in that the Methodist church has two doors leading into the front of the building, one for the women and one for the men.
