Why?
Ticonderoga-class guided missile cruiser USS Bunker Hill . this is a mini-model of the USS Bunker Hill(CG-52). it has 2 MK.26 twin-arm missile launchers(instead of the later MK.41 vertical launching system), 2 MK.45 127mm. lightweight guns, the harpoon missile launchers (i had a hard time getting them to look good, they turned out oversized), and 2 Phalanx CIWS. the Sikorsky SH-60 seahawk helicopter is a bit oversized. it has folded-back rotor blades. inspiration for this model and for the helicopter was Locutus 666's Ticonderoga. i did not copy any part of his ship intentionally. . i told you about it in the intro. please rate and comment. a better view of the whole thing. top view. midsection with launches (is that the plural of launch?) and phalanx. the radar domes on the phalanx could be larger, but the minifig hands (barrels) toppled overboard under the weight. front. a sneak peek at my mechanical wyvern WIP i may change it around a bit.
