D-Day; Omaha Beach, 1944 . U.s marines stormed Omaha beach in 1944. It proved a tough nut to crack, due to the fact that the beach was sourrounded by high cliffs, and was the most well defended. The U.S. forces captured the beach, but sustained over 3,000 casualties as a result. Hope you like it!! Please rate and comment. . A close up of the german lines, and the cliff. U.S. marines wade ashore, under heavy fire. A Navy medic puts a man out of his misery, after the man had his leg blown off. He's lost so much blood, he's turned white. A marine gets hit in the chest with a mortar, and is blown to pieces. A German Flak-38 gun emplacement. A waterfall. A top view of the waterfall and the rock work around it. A side view. The main group of marines fight their way towards the trenches. The german pillboxes, and block houses. A german foot soldier is hit with a bazooka. A german soldier in a trench, with a panzershrek.
