Steampunk Civil War: Retreat at the Old Mill . What if, near the end of the American civil war, the confederates had deployed a brand new super weapon? One that was such a game changer that it turned the course of the war? I give you the Confederate Airship Valkyrie! . Bricks Used: 6938 Acknowledgement: Anyone who made a steampunk zeppelin or walker. I looked at all of them when making mine. The Zeppelin is stolen from my own build: the Blimp Bomber. This particular construct has now seen a lot of mileage since it was also used in the USS Anchorage: Submarine of the Future. Background photo: I got lazy and used the same photo I used for Ishii Castle: Building Instructions in HD. CSA Valkyrie is a deadly 8 gunned monster, capable to out flanking enemy positions and raining death down on them from above. It can also go in for a low pass and deploy the two deadly War-Striders attached to the stern. Captain Johnstone at the helm directs the battle. War-striders come equipped with either a Gatling gun or a flamethrower. The valiant last stand of Sergeant Blackwater and his bravest soldiers. This was my first attempt to use explosion effects in LDD. I think it turned out ok, but I'm open to ideas about how to do this better. The whole project started out as a doodle using technic pieces that resulted in the war-strider legs, and then just sort of exploded from there. There were a lot of awesome steampunk builds on the pages last week, so I think that may have influenced my desire to make one of my own. There is also a distinct lack of any creations from the civil war era in the US... odd.
