Orcus, Prince Of The Undead . . And here's my third entry for the 2012 MocAthalon. I'm on team "Expendables" and building for the category of "Myths and Legends: Build a scene showing a famous myth or legend. IE: Paul Bunyon, Olympus, Headless Horseman, etc." I decided to build Orcus, a god of the underworld and punisher of broken oaths in Italic and Roman mythology. In essence, he's a porcine Satan. He's also a prominent villain in Dungeons & Dragons, which is probably his main claim to fame. Being an all-powerful demon-prince, Orcus naturally dwarfs a mortal minifigure. His head was the first part I built; it's practically one big blob of SNOT with studs facing everywhere. The wand of Orcus. In Dungeons & Dragons it kills mortals on contact; I don't believe it has any special properties in legend though. His demonic tail. His legs. I made sure they have that weird backwards bend at the knee. His side. I included over 18 points of flexibility in this guy, including the wings. Horizontal wings. Either he's sad or being intimidating here, you just can't tell with demons. "Come, join me for dinner!" "Oh yeah!" Anyway, hopefully you enjoyed seeing this MOC; I know I enjoyed building it!
