Why?
Sideway roofing basic idea . . The idea of this technique is to mimic the rounded shape of the ship in crosscut, while still maintaining some structural strength. It has widespread use as a means to design especially the lower hull curvature. The basic bricks: Any brick with knobs on the side can work as the core pieces And any roof brick can work as the shape/surface bricks Steps: I usually place the core bricks bottom up, so they can be covered with tiles later on. And then it’s just like building a roof. Advantages/disadvantages: The advantage of this technique is that it does exactly what it’s supposed to do. And it gives complete freedom of size and shape of your ship. The downside is that it has the tendency to lack smoothness in bow and stern.
