atlas class transport ship . the atlas class transport ship was built for the atlantic navy to carry its marines to the battle feild the atlas class can carry over 4000 marines and all their equipment currently the atlantic navy only has 2 ships in active service but plans have been made to purchase 7 more vessels. now on to the pictures . the atlas class is the first transport ship designed and owned by the atlantic navy sometimes the ships are used as research vessels dimensions: length:392feet height:(highest point)120 feet weight:4600 tonnes speed:30 knots range:6500 nautical miles armament:2 50cal machine guns midship with the smokestacks the ship is smooth and covered with radar absorbent paint to minimize radar detection back of the ship 2 helicopters departing the uss atlas ship with exploration submarine the submarine alone please rate and comment
