The Galway Exiles . Goth + Brown = Instant Steampunk . A boistrous airship with a checkered past, "The Galway Exiles" is run by a band of adventurers and their roguish captain.
On the prow of the boat, we see two of the adventures, Malcolm and Lydia. Malcolm is a fusileer who weilds twin flintlocks, and Lydia specializes in her rapier and magickal abilities.
Standing in the wheelhouse is the infamous Captain Twitch, wanted dead of alive in 17 different provinces and counties throughout the United Kingdom. The original Galway exile, he has maintained the airship for many a year since he was banished from his homeland.
The Galway Exile began it's life as a freight barge, but just like any true captian Twitch has reworked and tinkered with the craft in countless ways. The turbines are stolen from other Imperial vessels, and the engine is completely reworked for maxium efficiency. This is the legendary ship that made the Kessel run in less than 12 para... aww, forget it.
Check out that beauty! This model was built almost entirely on Christmas Eve. In the year 1855, of course, not 2011. Let us take a peek below deck, shall we?
Ahh, the interior. There are several bunks below deck (younger members of the crew get hammocks), and some storage barrels for food and raw materials. Also plenty of room below decks for any neat loot found on adventures.
The coal-burning engine, and the tool rack. And just like every engine, it always breaks down in the worst situations.
Captain Twitch's desk and office. Features his nav-table, lantern, and a large bottle of potent Irish whisky.
Finally, the crew! From left to right: Colin, the airship's mechanic; Captain Twitch, the infamous pilot of the vessel; Dharam, an cleric from the east; Chen, a martial artist / fire mage; Lydia, the fencer / earth sage; and Malcolm the fusileer.
What the heck? Looks like someone took this creation a little too seriously. I mean a top hat? Sheesh!
Thanks for looking, and a toast to everyone's building skills for the new year!
