Why?
German WW2 Schnellboot WIP . What will be a Lego German WW2 Schnellboot mini fig scale. . The Kriegsmarine's Schnellboot is considered by many authorities to be the best overall torpedo boat of WW2. It was carefully designed to operate and survive in a harsh North Sea combat environment. The foresight and engineering skill in that design is apparent throughout the details of the boat. This eventually will be docked against the sea wall of the u-boat diorama. It's early in the building but I have the rough design figured out in my head and a couple of large bricklink orders were just made. I couldn't be happier with the tapering of the hull towards the stern. It will be 16 studs at the largest width; and about 113 studs long. The hull is about half way done in the pictures (thus the order from Bricklink). It is based on the Class 10-14 WW2 Schnellboot. It will have a detailed interior and will be lit by lifelites. www.lifelites.com. I have a feeling this will be a much easier and quicker build than the u-boat. I told myself I would do a better job of documenting my builds so that's why this is why I decided to upload some very early shots. Enjoy!
