MAV-60 . . This is the MAV-60, the largest Artillery cannon in the world (conflict). It shoots a 402 mm round every 21 seconds, a time greatly improved by its mostly automated systems. It is capable of propelling it's projectile over 167 miles (268 km), Mostly thanks to its revolutionary new ammunition design. the acronym given to this type of vehicle (because as you know the military loves their acronyms) is Extreme Long Range Mobile Artillery Support Vehicle, or ELRMASV for short.
Why so big you ask? well, theres three reasons. One, to assist troops deeply behind enemy lines which will most likely be a Black Ops team or other Special Forces. Two, to break down enemy strongholds, bases and fortifications before ever putting troops in the way of harm. Three, just to say we have the biggest frikkin Artillery gun in the world :D.
Here we see the opening doors and part of the interior drivers hatch with all of the targeting, navigation and sensor equipment. Seats for two.
Here we can see the blast shields for the windows so that the occupants dont get fried if a bomb goes off. lets face it, glass ain't the strongest material ever.
Blast Shields open.
Blast Shields closed. Thank god theres external cameras to drive with.
Here we see the rotating base for the cannon... rotated, a little bit...
And the back of the swivel platform, not much too see here except the shock absorbing plates because the recoil doesn't absorb all of the inertial energy. So, to make sure the cannon takes no damage, these plates absorb the shock and dispel it evenly.
The cannon is locked down and ready for the MAV to Drive off to the next Designated Fire Position.
Well, I hope you like it, and remember to rate and comment.
