MIT Round 1 "Eric W. vs. Chris Stone." Collectible Minifig Mecha (Ooze Blaster 5000) . . First, I will start off with the links to the MIT homepage HERE and to my honorable opponent, Chris Stone, HERE . The catagory is Build a mecha that one of the released Collectible Minifigures would pilot. I chose to go with the hazmat guy because I thought I could build the coolest mech with him. (Also the fact that I don't have enough pieces to do otherwise.) Anywho, this style mech is used for those big disasters that require big clean up. It uses two arms that spray liquid nitrogen over large areas to freeze and harden chemical spills for easier clean up. This is the back of the beast. Here you can see the huge tank containing the liquid nitrogen. Here is my favorite part of the build, the legs! They are long and strong for getting to places fast and also feature large thrusters to jump over things like skyscrapers and whatnot.. The control deck. I chose to use an open cockpit design. One reason was because I thought it looks cool and the fig is already protected by his suit, the other was to showcase that awesome minifig! 4th wall commentary: This is actually my first mech I have ever built. It was also a very fun build. Maybe I will start building more of these things in the future...
