Why?
Wraith Hive Ship . Another Moc comparison with Giovanni Seynhaeve - and another SHIP . Well friends, folks and out of the Nirvana appeared Mark Kelso, time for a new Moc comparison between Gio an me - the "battle of the Hives" The subject (for those of you, unfamiliar with it) is a spaceship from the Sci-Fi series Stargate Atlantis - The Wraith Hive Ship Initially this one should be done before BW, but I needed all my black parts for Barad-dûr so it had to wait after BW - Gio was finished with his one, before I even started on it... To prevent questions like "How many of your black parts are in it" or something like these lines - It is maybe 15-20 % of all my black parts ;-) The Hive is 85x60cm in measurement - so it is per definition a SHIP (my smallest one so far, though) This 'subject' was a real tough one and a challenge to build! 1. Shape achievement - Organic look + Lego = MUCH FUN... 2. Color and contrast: I tried to integrate some bley for contrast - but it didn't work well and I decided to build it completely black, only with the trans-yellow windows as contrast to this mass of black. (i have to admit, that it came out better than I exspected it) The Hive: It was much fun and a blast to do this! Thanks Gio! Please take the time to look and comment on Giovanni's Hive - Thanks! - Kevin
