Westin Peachtree Plaza Hotel, Atlanta . Model completed in 2011 . This model is approximately 1/650th scale, similar to my other skyscrapers. 11 Photos available on Brickshelf.com I had previously built the Detroit Renaissance Center and R.H. had built The Westin Bonaventure in Los Angeles, so I decided it was time to finish up architect John Portmanís 1970ís tubular architectural trilogy with the Westin Peachtree Plaza. The 73 story Westin Peachtree Plaza Hotel was the tallest hotel in the world when it opened in 1977 and the tallest building in Atlanta. The upper floors of the tower features a revolving restaurant and the roof houses a broadcast antenna. A side profile of the building. The backside has no detailing, as that wall is shared with a neighboring building. These views show some of the detailing around the base. Due to the small size of the model I used thin wall panels, rather than bulky plates and bricks, for many of the free surface edges.
