SS Lego . Lego Ship in a Bottle! . I came up with the (what I thought) was a fantastic notion of building a Lego ship in a bottle and decided to run with it. So first, I did a Google search for "Lego Ship in a Bottle" and alas someone had done it before! (here) But what's that to stop me! So I purchased a large bottle of $7 jug wine, attempted to drink it but it was just too awful so I poured it down the sink. I filled it part way with floral resin and glass beads to give myself a flat surface to work on, and put together a set of make-shift tools to do the job. These are the tools I ended up using: I designed the entire thing in Bricksmith and devised a way to build it back to front using only bricks that were able to fit through the neck of the bottle (mostly 2 pegs wide, but also plates that were 3 pegs wide). Then I got building! I documented it in video for your enjoyment: If you live in Germany and can't watch the above video (or you just hate the song), you can see it in silence here I just want to say that I have been absolutely blown away by the response to my video. I am honored to have been blogged on Brother's Brick, Gizmodo, Ripley's Believe it or Not, Wired.com and the many other websites that have posted links to it. I really never expected more than a handful of people to find this interesting! To all the music haters, I realize the song gets irritating, but really I don't think it's as bad as you're making it out to be! And as for the second sail, I did knock it off trying to rotate it to the right position. I didn't try putting it back in because I didn't want to miss and knock something else off the boat.
