For my meal, I chose instead of a normal breakfast/lunch/dinner meal, to make a meal of desserts. So I made a cake, two chocolate chocolate chip cookies, and one plain chocolate chip cookie.
So here are the cookies, pretty normal construction, I chose to build a plate to go along with them.
And this is my pride and joy, the cake. I went through all the circle-making techniques I've ever learned, and I couldn't decide on one because they all had one little flaw I couldn't perfect, maybe to many of a kind of piece or something.
The middle candle section is not firmly attached, and can slide right out.
The structure I used for the top of the cake was originally going to be used for a paper doily, but I found a better use.
This was definitely the most challenging category so far, it wasn't the category itself but the problems I had while trying to make my entry. In real life, I love to cook, so I had too many ideas on my mind about what do make.
My mind went to the dessert idea right away, but I had too many ideas about what to make. My orginal plan was three cookies, three muffins (too small to be non-blocky) and a cake. Then I thought about just making an ice cream sundae, then maybe that and cookies. I thought about making some chocolate mousse, as well as a raspberry layer tart, and then a fruit tart.
But in the end I decided on this.
