Grumman TBM-3 Avenger torpedo bombers from the U.S.S. Yorktown CV10 Aircraft Carrier releasing their torpedoes against the Japanese Battleship Yamato. . 1”/108” (or 1”=9’) scale. 5 ¾” wide x 4 ½” long x 1 ½” tall. Weight of each plane: 2 ounces. Started 12-25-10. Completed in 2-11-11. 70 LEGO bricks used for each plane. All built to scale from actual blueprints & diagrams. Building ‘Operation Ten Go’ diorama from April 7, 1945. LEGO U.S.S. Yorktown Aircraft Carrier 8' long under construction. Estimated completion by April, 2013. Stay tuned... .
