Ship . This LDD design is made to resemble the British snau(snow) HMS Ontario. . I have chosen this ship because it had several features that can be found on larger vessels such as gun ports, boats and several decks. This design is intended as a trial platform for achieving authentic colors (both exterior as well as interior) and a good hull shape. I quickly settled for using sections to tackle the issue of access to the lower decks. This as well as the general design of the guns and boats can be found on a lot of my later designs. A feature I havenīt come across since designing this ship is the windlass which has similar purposes as the (here absent) capstan. One of the things both fun and challenging, was to design a rudder that actually worked. Here with some of the stern section removed, so you can see it. I think this ship proved to be an excellent trial platform as most of the design solutions can be found on most of my later designs. Such as the tile plating on the hull, the gun emplacements, the run-through masts and the sideways hull shaping. (I donīt claim coming up with these solutions, but this design is the first time I have used them) However there has been some development as can be seen when comparing to the HDMS Lougen.
