Cutty Sark . 1:50 scale (minifg) reproduction of the famous clipper Cutty Sark from 1869, Britain. . Lego model is 163cm long and 97cm tall. This MOC was specifically prepared for the 4th spanish LEGO-fan meeting in Terrassa (Barcelona); Hispabrick 2010. This was the first time I participated in a public Lego display. I hope it wont be the last! ;-) The LEGO building techniques used here are pretty much the same as used on the Calypso ocean explorer. Rigging is kept real simple, just enough to create the sensation of a true classic tall ship. Credit: The idea of using Technic pins where the ratlines are anchored, is borrowed from Captain Green Hair. The history of the famous Cutty Sark is pretty interessting (Google it!). Alas it burned in dry dock in Greenwich in 2007. Full restaurantion is currently under way. *** Photo of me presenting the MOC to fellow FOLīs at Hispabrick 2010 in Barcelona. *** This MOC was blogged by The Brothers Brick; TBB
