Valkyrie II (Final) . This is the final version of the Elite class Valkyrie II. . My biggest and best MOC yet. I won 1st place in the 2010 Clark County Fair with it, and they even sent me a prize: they sent me a 1$ check. (They probably spent more on the check, stamp, and envelope than the dollar they were giving me.) What in the world was that about?...anyways, it is what it is.
Imaginative Specs:
The Valkyrie II is a capital warship, classified as a dreadnought. Just over a mile long, and armed with over 100 laser and ion cannons on board, it is used only during major conflicts. (74 long range laser cannons, 68 point defense ion cannons, 2 rear energy pulse cannons, 4 turbo particle beams, and 2 high power sonic wave generators) The bottom side has two water supply ballasts for use when flying on campaigns. The huge water tanks also serve as a coolant for the engines, and a water supply in case of a fire.
The ship is propelled by four ion engines with a maximum speed of mach 7 (does not take into account the speed of a slipspace jump), although mach 7 is not recommended due to the major stress put on the reverse thrusters to slow the ship down.
The wings serve two purposes, one is to ease the stress on the engines in an atmosphere by gliding, and solar panels mounted on the wings provide a large share of the electricity to the ship.
Real Specs:
Length: 4 1/2 feet long
Width: 4 1/2 feet (Includes wingspan. If the wings are bent upward like in the picture, the width is around 4 1/4 feet)
This ship actually has over 100 cannons on board, and a lot of trans-blue accent pieces.
It took around 3 weeks and a couple hundred dollars to complete.
Estimated cost: $800-$1200 in pieces.
This is the main deck of the ship. The hangars are underneath. The major modification from the last version I posted is this main deck. I made it thicker, and added a slight slope to the sides.
Here is the command deck:
This is a nose view.
Until next time. Thanks for looking!
