Yakovlew Yak41M Freestyle . . Yakovlev Yak-41M was supersonic VTOL fighter, developed for Soviet Navy. The project started in 1975. Although the aircraft was ready in 1985, the first flight took place 9th March 1987, due to problems with engines. It was projected as interceptor, but was finished as multi-role fighter. It was very successful aircraft (it holds many world records in it's class), and in opinion of many specialists it was 10-15 years ahead of western VTOL technology. Unfortunately for Yakovlev, due to Soviet Union collapse, Navy didn't have enough money to keep this program alive. Nowadays, Yak-41M is not flyable any more. This model is in usual 1:58 scale, it has working landing gear (in theory, in practice it's front gear is very, very fragile), folding wings, movable flaps, thrust vectoring and other features connected with vertical landing. Here it's carrying two R-27 rockets and two R-73. Some of the pictures shows Yak, during vertical take-off/landing. Unfortunately the real model won't look as cool, because to get those "hot" engines look so hot, I had to cheat a little bit, but of course I'm talking only about colours everything in real model is working the same way, as in the pictures.I will upload real model in 6,7 days. Please rate and comment.
