Why?
LEGO virus . This is a tribute to the company I work for! It is an Adenovirus entering a cell. . The idea for this MOC came from my boss, during a break out in the sunshine. Little did he know that I would take him seriously… The idea clung to me because, as everybody knows (at least the people working at Crucell), this virus is an icosahedron (like a 20-sided dice). It is build up of hexons and pentons, meaning 6-sided and 5-sided figures. These angles are darn right impossible to make with LEGO, so I built something looking not quite unlikely like an Adenovirus. The vaccine has just penetrated the cell membrane, there to deliver his bundle of goodness against nasty diseases. Crucell is developing vaccines against all sorts of infectious diseases, like malaria, tuberculosis, HIV, Rabies and more. A technology in development, AdVac, is the idea of using a harmless virus to deliver a warning sign about a bad disease. Then if you get exposed, your body will deal with the threat before you get sick! Have fun!!!
