The MOC, the myth, the legend.
About this creation

The falls being the most distinctive feature of the latest expansion, I made you wait through all the other chapters for it. I'll leave it to you to decide whether I'm a master of suspense, or just an ass.

Blake's Peak.
"He who bends to himself a joy
Does the winged life destroy;
But he who kisses the joy as it flies
Lives in eternity's sunrise."

Ascetic Caverns. Generations of misanthropic misfits and moony mystics have renounced worldly ways and lived a bare minimalist existence in these caves. The Mayor can often be found here when he doesn't want to be found.
Wait...

Lucifer Falls. If you don't get it, maybe Clone Wars MOCs are more your speed.

Lake Milton. If you didn't get the Lucifer Falls thing, you're in way over your head.

Pangloss Peak. Because Shannonia really is the best of all possible worlds.

Lake Milton ranger station. The ranger's main job is to keep morons from trying to go over the falls in a barrel, but every once in a while one slips past him. Should the mentally-challenged daredevil somehow survive, the penalty is death -- by being forced to go over the falls in a barrel. As many times as necessary.

Big Bend Wilderness Area. Generations of Shannonians have gone camping or come on day trips here. Now a victim of its own popularity, it's getting harder and harder to find that natural solitude it was once renowned for. As the song says, "You call some place Paradise, kiss it goodbye..."

Into rock climbing? No, neither is the Mayor. But on the off chance that you are, the west face of Pangloss Peak is the most popular spot for it in all of Shannonia.
And now, for those of you who have followed along so patiently through all my inane jabber, I do you the supreme favor, something you thought you might never live to see on a Shannonia page: I shut my big yap and just let the city speak for itself. You may come up with your own humorous and/or acerbic captions, or snooty literary references. to accompany the following images if you wish.

Thank you for visiting.
Hey, did I ever mention this thing was award-winning...?

"A heaven of He11, a he11 of Heaven," is the quote that comes to mind. Yeah, I got it, professor Young. A forceful display of poetic rhythm. I read it when my AP Lit teacher suggested it after we covered Homer. While I wasn't particularly fond of the epic's subject matter, Milton's technical prowess couldn't be ignored - double discourse and all that - it makes me feel so small. Ah hem, anyway...the MOC, yes. I kept seeing "Shannonia" all over, like it was your quintessential MOC or something, and decided to take a look. I was not disappointed. This speaks to a level of dedication I can't even fathom. |

How do you get the base plates on the bottom of each Shannonia section on the bases. Your ocean bases and killer parrot/ big frog bases. Do you just scrap the Shannonia section, then rebuild it on the bases. Or is there a secret technique. Please tell me!
The base sections have frames made of long technic bricks and long plates inside, and each section fastens to its neighbors with technic pins. The baseplates with the actual city sections just sit on top, and are held in place by the lip around the edge of the base. They aren't fastened down in any way -- if the base was tilted up far enough while the city was on it, the sections would fall out.

IT IS THE BEST MOC EVER MADE SINCE ADAM AND EVE WERE CREATED , IT IS THE BEST MOC RIGHT NOW, AND IT WILL ALWAYS BE THE BEST MOC UNTIL ARMAGEDDON. I suggest make one more Shannonia, with cars, boats, and airplanes, then afterwards, make a Shannonia apocalypse. Its sounds harsh, but if you are going to make more MOC's and you are going to destroy Shannonia to make them, you might as well make it amusing. |

thanks for the greeting on my timley return to MOCpages! Been a busy boy since 2007 working in France so not had time to build! =( but I'm back now and along with mechs, the UNI POD will be reserected soon like the phoenix from the ashes!lol Anyway, onto Shannonia - this is out and out AWSOME and is expanding expanentially like some freakishly amazing lego virus! it's coming on superbly and before long, you may find yourself in a land border dispute with Narnia if Shannonia gets much bigger! keep up the good work buddy!. |
