Ingram MAC 10 submachine gun RBG (x2)
two Ingram MAC 10 RBGs with detachable magazines, 20+ round capacity (each) and working safety catches
About this creation
These are two identical Ingram MAC 10 submachine RBGs. they are semi automatic and have a capacity of over 20 bands (i havent tested to see how many).

video here

they work using a 40-tooth gear at the back, which is gradually geared up to a gear at the other end that spins 20 times for every one of the 40t gear. the mechansim then simply allows this fast gear to spin half a revolution each time you pull the trigger (if the safety is off).

it is a pretty simple mechanism, the hard bit is getting it to fit inside the body of a small submachine gun. i chose the MAC 10 as the obvious choice, as it is square and box-like. another reason was the position of the safety catch - it is on the underside, infront of the trigger, which makes it easy to make a working one (which i did). there is also the fact that i like the gun.

I just built it yesterday, and i have to say that it is really cool. i like the safety feature also. one thing i would like to know is that if you ever thought of looking for a different place to load the rubberbands onto the front, because it seems as though about a third of the RBs hit the front part and fly off in other directions.

The gun uses- 1 x large 40 tooth gear; 4 x 20 tooth double bevel gears (fat ones); 3 x 24 tooth gears; 1 x small 8 tooth gear; 5 x 12 tooth double bevel gears. Hope this helps, i'm sure you will be able to work out the gears from this, if you need any help just comment.

Quoting Jasper Jasper I took a closer look at the safety and I just can't figure out how that works:P Can you tell a bit more about the safety switch?
it basically stops you from being able to pull the trigger.

well its good but there are 2 minor things i think you could do better: make the fold up stock longer and make the magazine go up into the top of the grip

No, it just means that only the stuff no one can work out how it works can be your BEST. But anyway, nice work, clean looking guns.

Quoting Bohdan Tkachenko Very good, but not your best. I mean I couldn't do better but I can make this mech just by looking at it. I know how it works to. When I have some spare time I will try to make this. Thanks for detailing the mech. I see exactly how it works.
does that mean that my stuff is only decent when no-one can work out how it works? ;)
