And, to add to what I just posted, no, they aren't entirely romance; otherwise I doubt I'd like them, but it really is mostly just a romantic fantasy series.

Well, book one is interesting, but pretty much just a boring romance with a touch of run-away-from-the-scary-vampire towards the end. The later books, though, get some really interesting situations and character developments, (and really annoying cliffhangers) that make it a pretty interesting series, if a bit bizzare. Book four goes from how you described, to being plain annoying, depressing, and freaky, to being one of the most interesting books in the series by the last third. I'd reccommend them, if you are up to getting through the only semi-interesting first book.

So dude, I hate to be asking this, but... are the books good? I mean, is it all romance or what? I hear book four is... well, I can't technically say it, but I think you catch my drift...

This is what I get after 8 and 1/2 solid hours of Indiana Jones and the Infernal Machine? Sheesh. I've seen the books. It was a pretty good series. Harry Potter was better, but the writing was good. And the later books were better anyway. You'll be suprised to find that I agree with almost everything the anti-Twilight people say except that the books and characters are bad- that's right, I'm just as sick of hearing the hype as everyone else. Your comment did make me crack up, though.
