The Tantive IV - official transport of Princess Leia of Alderaan. This moc shows the ships last battle.
About this creation
Important note: I've tried to get a 'feel' of the Tantive IV with this MOC, rather than a wholly faithful copy of the set, please bear that in mind when commenting :) Thanks :)
The lighting effect was achieved by building thin slightly transparent plastic into the ceiling - not exactly purist, I know, but it does the job :)
Troops rush to defend the airlock
"Did you hear that? They've shut down the main reactor, we'll be destroyed for sure!"
Princess Leia entrusts the Death Star plans to Artoo's care.
Darth Vader boards the Tantive IV
Stormtrooper entering the control room
Captain Antilles becomes another martyr for the rebel cause.
Views of the outside, showing the removable roofs and walls. The entire moc is built on a 48 x 48 stud baseplate.
Thanks for looking, please score this MOC and comment, I need all the help I can get :))

Pretty cool but I think it would have been better to built an accurate model of the Tantive IV and made it so you could take the top off and see that awesome interior that you made. 3/5 DH
Do you realise how big that would be? Wiki has the Tantive IV at 150m in length - Lets say that roughly scales down to 3 studs per metre = 450 studs or (3studs=approx 2.5 cm) 3.75 metres! My house isn't big enough, neither is my bank balance!

Wow, that is amazing. I would like to know how you got the floors so shiny?
I didn't 'do' anything :) it's just the normal shine off the lego. Most of the plates for the floor were new from bricklink, if that helps... |

This is one impressive piece of work. I'm usually pretty picky about details, but I see nothing to pick about. I would recommend doing your Trooper legs with Fineclonier decals since you did such a great job with Cpt. Antilles. It makes them look really good (I've done a bunch of mine). |

This is a great build! I know I already know the answer to this question, but I have to ask. You requested to join one of my groups and there is only one rule for that group. Again, I know the answer but legally I have to ask? Do you fit the requirements? Leave me a comment and let me know and we'll get you in within the day. (again, sorry but... I have to). Your builds are AWESOME by the way. ~ Chris. |

Question for you... what lights are you using behind the transparent plastic?
Thanks in advance.
They are very cheap photographic lights - I got two of them on ebay for about £30 for the pair. Look for 'white balanced' lights. They are great and I use them for all my photographs
Thanks for commenting!

The only critique I can make is on the section Vader's in. The white arch pieces and gray walls just look awkward. Those walls don't seem to have been given the same loving attention as the walls out in the corridors.
Yup I agree totally :) In my defence I would say that the walls in that area are very very complicated and beyond my current skills to replicate properly - but thats just an excuse :)) Thanks for commenting :) |

I consider myself a purist but if you can make the impurity look good, I overlook it. You've certainly done that here. The only critique I can make is on the section Vader's in. The white arch pieces and gray walls just look awkward. Those walls don't seem to have been given the same loving attention as the walls out in the corridors. |
