1970 Chevrolet Chevelle
First of all, I'd like to thank everyone who played "WHAT KIND OF CAR IS IT?!?!?!". And yes, it's a '70 Chevelle, one of my favorite cars. I finally got the hinges I needed for the doors, so this car is pretty much finished. The only thing I think I could improve is the chassis, but I won't know how to do that until I can get a die-cast replica of the car. Thanks for looking!
About this creation
So, why yellow? Just take a look at my folder of 10-wide cars. It's all red and black! I just thought it could use some more color.

Who wants to see a 360 degree spin? You don't?! Too bad!

Hegfygefsddcoiyjrijazcjhvdhvdvatefgtfev!!!!! Randomly placed nonsense! Made you look.

You could put a truck bed on the back and make a nice El Camino, if you like.

Now let's take a look under the hood, shall we?

The engine could be more accurate to the real car...

Unfortunately, it doesn't have opening doors yet. Those yellow hinges have been pretty much impossible to find.

The interior. It's basicly the same as in my red muscle car, but slightly changed around to fit this car.

I just love the way those seats turned out!

And finally, let's take a look at my favorite angle of the car. I hope I can find those hinges soon, so I can finish it off with some opening doors.

Update: February 10th, 2009. Success! I found the hinges I needed for the doors on Ebay.

Many of the cars that were made by General Motors back 1967-1972 were almost identical. Mainly the Oldsmobile Cutlass, The Chevrolet Chevelle, The Chevy Nova, and yes, even the Chevy Impala. That's why I picked this time period.. because it would be hard to guess exactly which one. Especially if it was Lego. This car is in fact:

A 1970 CHEVELLE!!!

But if you guessed the Cutlass, the Impala, or the Nova, you were on the right track.

The winners are:

Tony Dunne

Shaun Tilley

Matthew Harned

lol wut

Good guessing, guys! You've won yourselves... Bragging rights?! If you want to, you can write a nice, long comment bragging about you superior intelligence and knowledge about cars. Maybe I'll do something like this again soon. Thanks for playing "WHAT KIND OF CAR IS IT?!?!?!".

Quoting Rob Deavers This is a very good job on the car, especially with the doors and front end, but all of you have the year wrong. With the new body style in 1970, the Chevelle had dual headlights, as does this model. In 1971 and on, they had single headlights with a larger turn signal at the corners. So, this is a 1970 Chevelle, not a 71. Awesome model, though.
Yeah, I see what you mean. Sorry, I've got my years a little mixed up. I'll change the year in just a second... Oh, and to anybody who guessed a '71 Chevelle, you guys are still the contest winners, because you didn't have to guess the year model. Thanks for pointing that out, Rob!

Quoting Raphael G My guess (I'll add the year) is a '72 Cutlass..... It looks almost exact! Great work, this is really finely replicated! I can't wait for the final version.... :)
Close, very close. The Cutlass and the Chevelle were very similar. That was still a pretty good guess.
