Nosferatu: Toa Kuelu of Shadow
Sorry about the wait for the next epic, but here's something to chew on in the meantime.
About this creation
Nosferatu, once one of Kihoku's best friends and now back from the dead thanks to him, is not technically a Toa or even "alive" as we know it. His story is a bizarre and twisted tale, one of the oldest still told in Kueva-Nui.
He was originally an unnamed Matoran, a kind-hearted and eccentric Matoran, who wanted to be a friend to all, but because of his unusual, yet harmless, personality traits (eccentricity, thinking out loud in public, asking out-of-place questions), he was ostracized and made fun of by the other Matoran. He traveled from village to village in search of Matoran who would accept him, yet none did, and he eventually gained a reputation all across Kueva-Nui as "The Island Freak". After facing persecution, ridicule, and laughter mixed with pure hatred by the other Matoran, he fled into the forests of Lei-Kueva. There he lived out his days, hunting rahi, living off the land, and simmering with anger over his exile and the attitudes of his fellow Matoran. Eventually, after Kihoku's first team went corrupt, they started clearing parts of the forests there in order to draw out rahi who normally avoid contact with the outside. They caught a glimpse of the poor Matoran fleeing deeper into the woods and killed him on the spot, thinking he was one of the rahi they sought. They were wrong. When the Matoran's phsyical body ceased to function, his spirit rose up, and with decades of simmering hatred mixed in, became an entirely different creature, the creature known as Nosferatu.

Nosferatu became a vampiric creature without a body, known as the "Eternal Shadow" by the matoran towns he terrorized at night. He vaguely resembled a rahi beast composed of pure shadow but could also take on any form he wanted, for he was not bound to a physical body. Some called him a heartless savage, yet in reality he was brilliant in a very cold and sadistic sense. His nighttime routine consisted of haunting Matoran in their nightmares, specifically the ones whom dealt him the most humiliation and pain, leaving them to wake up in a cold sweat, sometimes killing them in their sleep from fear. Sometimes he would kill entire villages if they had treated him bad enough when he was alive. He especially enjoyed it when Toa would come to investigate, for he would paralyze them with ghastly hallucinations, for days on end, the minute they came near his target village. While they were paralyzed, he would drain their energy as slowly and painfully as possible, leaving just enough for them to run away so, in time, he could do it again. Every Matoran came to know the Eternal Shadow, the Nosferatu, and to quake in terror should he pay their town a visit while lamenting their treatment of him in life. He told them who he was, of course.

The change came when he saw Kihoku reappear, for he had never known of him. He was poised and ready to haunt this newfound Ice-Toa (or so he thought, for Kihoku was much older than he was) when the unthinkable happened. Kihoku spotted the Toa who killed him in the distance, a Toa of Water, and froze her in solid ice up to her shoulders. He floated, invisible, over his shoulder as she screamed "traitor", only to be called a harlot in return. Kihoku then told the water toa that he knew everything that she and her brothers had done, and that death with the destruction of their minds and memories was the only suitable punishment. At this point the water toa panicked, attempting to raise tendrils of water out of the moisture in the ground to subdue Kihoku. (Confused? See Kihoku: Toa Kuelu of Ice. That will clear things up)

Kihoku laughed, freezing the tendrils with a wave of his staff, shattering them into hundreds of razor-sharp fragments, and bringing them all upon his former sister. Nosferatu couldn't help but let out a laugh at her screaming and added to it by haunting her with the image of the Matoran she killed, what that Matoran became, and the words "You did this". She died in agony and betrayal, with the realization that she created the Eternal Shadow by killing that unnamed Matoran.

Upon realization that Kihoku wasn't alone, he turned to face Nosferatu before he could conceal himself again. Nosferatu simply hovered in place, watching Kihoku in the form of a wispy ball of shadow, barely translucent. "I know you're there." Kihoku said, "And you and I both seem to share a strong sense of what's right and what's wrong. We both deliver justice where it is due, yet the Matoran idolize me while condemning you..." Nosferatu couldn't help but agree, communicating his feelings with Kihoku telepathically. "What the Matoran did to you, refusing you your life by outcasting you, is inexcusable. But I can offer you a chance to be adored by those who once hated you." He pulls out a green Toa stone. "This stone houses the essence of Veudir, my former Toa of Air. I can let you have it. You can become a Toa, and use your mastery of shadow to the good of everyone."

Nosferatu pondered this, but inquired as to whether or not that would make him no better than a Makuta. "The Makuta use shadow energy," Kihoku replied, "But for their own selfish desires. Your use of shadow energy for revenge was personal, but you had a right to. The ignorance of those Matoran cannot, and did not, go unpunished. So what do you say?" Kihoku held out the stone, awaiting a reply.

Nosferatu surrounded himself around the stone, infusing himself with it's energy, and growing into a Toa Kuelu. He became a spirit animating a Toa Kuelu body with no command over light, but a Toa Kuelu nonetheless, albeit unorthodox. This suits him, however, because he can enter and exit his body as he pleases, taking on his old shadow form in order to bring down his enemies. He has been Kihoku's best friend and confidant since that day, and has continued to fight alongside him ever since.

Main pose with the wings up. Since he absorbed an Air Toa Stone he has the ability to fly. He must stay in his body when out in daylight, but should his enemy step into any shadow, he can animate it as fast as you can say "Holy crap my shadow just stabbed me!".

His two scythes. Simple, I will admit, but his abilities are more indirect. For example, he can paralyze his enemy with fear and hallucinations and then win the battle with simple melee combat.

Poised and ready to strike.

With the wings down.

The main arm with larger armor in order to house the larger amount of shadow energy required to lift the larger weapon.

The other shoulder.

Close-up on the armor.

The back with the wings.

SPOILER: There is a relation between Nosferatu and Lanuro, but I'm not going to say what it is until I release the next epic :)

Quoting Yuri Fassio I'm not very fond of long stories, but Nosferatu is a great character. Captivating design, I love how the purple mask breaks the black/silver theme. I'd put some more marbled parts in him (like Chirox's wings and feet) and try to give him a pose-able torso. Would you mind if I revamped him, when I get the time?
Feel free, because this character doesn't exist anymore and this old page is going to be revamped soon. Once finals are finished I intend to reboot the visual epics with a full-blown webcomic. Virtually all of my characters that weren't removed have major overhauls as well.

No, Darneris has a split-personality. Santorakh activates the evil side when Darneris is vulnerable.

Quoting Michael H Awesome! I like the wings :) He and Darneris would go along nicely
Indeed, but isn't Darneris evil? Or has that not been explained yet?
