Definitely not an exact replica of the original Crown Victoria... but you could see this as my LEGO town's original big-bumpered long-chassis cab.
About this creation
This one was obviously (or not quite?) inspired by New York's famous "weapon of choice" for every cab driver - the Ford Crown Victoria. Needless to say, it is in minifig-scale and practicality was more important to me than copying the exact lines of the original.
I know it does look a bit too high & cagey owing to the steep angle of the windshield... but I really didn't have too much of a choice - it was either that or the passengers would have had to run behind a streamlined albeit highly impractical yellow car in order to get to their desired destinations.
So I went for the first option, since there will be enough parks in our LEGO city for anyone who wants to do some jogging. By the way, how about that rear bumper then? I'd make sure I don't get the cab driver all worked up if I'm driving behind him... not as long as he's in a car with such an intimidating bumper!
Our beloved "mad professor guy"... guess what, he got off the Routemaster bus at the wrong station. So now he has to take a taxi in order to finally get to his appointment (that is, if there is still anyone waiting for him at the office!) Mission completed - two minifigs CAN fit in this car, ergo it should make a perfectly fine cab.
Looks good, ofcourse it's too high but hey: it's a minifigure car! But maybe you could build the roof 1 plate high instead of 2, that would help. But i don't know if it is possible, since the roof is 5 studs long, if it were 6 it would be no problem. So, keep building and thinking and trying ;)

Wow the design is great. It looks like a LEGO set it's so good.
