History
In the television show's history, KITT was said to have been designed by the late Wilton Knight, a brilliant but eccentric billionaire and founder of the Foundation for Law and Government (FLAG), and its parent Knight Industries.
KITT
-KITT is the acronymic descriptor for the fictional adventure series Knight Rider character. KITT is an artificial intelligence microprocessor installed in a highly advanced, very mobile, robot disguised as a 1982 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am. The car's voice was supplied by veteran stage and screen star William Daniels .
-KITT's main cybernetic processor was first installed in a mainframe computer used by the United States government in Washington D.C..[1] However, Wilton saw better use for "him" in the Foundation's crime-fighting crusade and eventually the system was installed in the vehicle. KITT was in fact the second vehicle built by Knight Industries with artificial intelligence. His predecessor was KARR, the Knight Automated Roving Robot. KARR was programmed for self-preservation, but this proved to be dangerous to the Foundation's interests. KARR was later deactivated and placed in storage while KITT was given to his new operator, Michael Knight (the new identity of Michael Long).
-KITT is loaded with special features such as the commonly-used Turbo Boost, which allows quick bursts of speed or jumping over obstacles. KITT could also drive himself, but perhaps his most distinct and recognizable aspect was his front mounted scan bar which, among other things, allowed KITT to "see". KITT's body panels were coated with an advanced "molecular bonded shell" armor coating which would resist conventional weapon fire as well as most artillery and explosive blasts although a strong direct hit by those attacks could cause severe damage.
-KITT underwent a major modification during a refit in 1985 which included the addition of "Super Pursuit Mode" and a convertible top.
The Action!
Here're some action pictures to start you ON! ;)
Two-Wheel Ski Drive - The Ski Mode setting allowed KITT to "ski" (driving up on two wheels). First used in Episode 1, "Knight of the Phoenix".
Turbo Boost - Used in most episodes, a series of rear mounted undercarriage rocket motors allows KITT to accelerate to incredible speeds in excess of 200 mph. When activated in combination with the Trajectory Guidance System and a pair of rocket motors mounted just behind the front tires that lifted the front of the car, KITT could jump 40 feet into the air and pass over obstacles in the road. The system also allowed KITT added power whenever he had to maneuver heavy objects such as pushing a heavy boulder off a cliff, or pulling a large vehicle out of danger. The boosters could fire forward or backward.
Front and front-side views...
KITT has a very aggressive look!
Though; he's so cute and friendly ;)
Please notice the scanner that looks like it's working... I'll tell you how in the end of the MOC ;)

The interior:
Sorry for the interior, I don't have enough tan pieces.
Loaded dashboard.
The engine:
ENGINE TYPE: Knight Industries turbojet with modified afterburners.
TRANSMISSION: 8 speed microprocessor turbodrive with auto pilot(needs no driver).
The T-top version:
My favorite!
The convertible version:
Convertible Roof - Added fourth season, by pressing the "C" button on KITT's dash, Michael could bring the top down and KITT became a convertible. First used in Episode #70, "Knight of the Juggernaut, Part II".
The scanner:
And here's how I made the scanner looks like it's scanning.

Thanks to my great friend Patrick Chambers for his useful tip on the front bumper...
Also a big thanks for my friend Andrew Colunga for helping me to get music at my page.
Hope you liked my MOC everyone... Thanks for visiting my page and see you soon with a new MOC :)
Nice to see such a deserving MOTD, and to revisit a classic MOC. I hope you get around to building some new stuff soon, I miss seeing your fantastic creations!
AWESOME! I'm so glad this was MOTD because it let me to you as a builder, hence the "My favorite builder" addition. I checked out your other builds and they are jaw dropping!
I first thought that your Ford GT is my absolut fav but this one is really a rivalry!
Great Work at all man, it looks very original.
Your Audi R8, Ford GT and this model are my fav models. Good job man. Oh and btw, thanks for your nice comment! ;)

its awsome although trans ams wasnt convertibles until later
Again, a real stunning creation, very true to the original! I really love those wheels, a perfect fit. Thanks for your comments and the invitation to BRICKSonWHEELS by the way!
This is absolutely incredible! I love these model Firebirds and Camaros, and this model of K.I.T.T. is amazing, especially with all the working pieces. I have to ask, in one of your action photos, how did you get the car to stand up on two wheels for the photo? I have been trying to find some of these techniques for action shots.
Hey man i don't want to bug you but i just wanted to say yesterday was my birthday and i got the coast gourd helicopter anys i like the converting cab se ya' man!
Oh wow, forgive me for not realizing sooner! This is really fantastic, I can't help but say all aspects of this creation are very well done! Wow!!?!! Those head lights flip up! TOO AWESOME! Wonderful photos! I am facinated by your technique. You used just the right parts on this MOC, a joy to see, thank you!
Loved the show - love the car! You have really captured it well. I'm blown away by the accuracy and functionality. Also love the stuffed interior! Great job.
Fofo.... you are truly my favourite builder on MOC pages itself!
my mother showed my this show when i was 10!!
LOVE the intro song, and i love the car itself (especially the red lights in the front)
EXCELLENT AND VERY ACCURATE!!!
PS. and thanks for the chasis pic it helped me, sorry i couldnt reply a bit earlier, had exams.
Take care!
I tried to get to you through BRICKSonWHEELS, but you didn't respond. So, I was wondering exactly how you got a picture on the main page of BRICKSonWHEELS, as well as the width of the picture. See I'm gonna do the same thing for West Coast Tuners, but I'm no HTML genius... So a little help would be appreciated here! Thanks!

Very cool!
I send a eulogy to your posture which always investigates the feature of a car.
It is "a knight 2000" no matter where it may see from.
Perfect JOB!
Ohh boy another james bond mobel! It realy does remind me of a top secert agents car. Any ways I think you couldn't of packed in more detail than the origanal contains. Great work my friend! ~CTF (P.S. sorry about the late comment School work has been over loaded for the past couple weeks, so it's hard to keep in touch.)
WOW! WOW! WOW! This is so over the freakin top! I thought it was a great MOC and then I got down to all of the pics with the open doors and engine detail and was just blown away. The music is a great touch.
VERY cool. ive been watching the new Kightrider latly. with the Shelby GT500. but this thing id sweet. you should see if you can make it transform like it does in the intro vid.
Firas, this is awesome! Great work. Back in the 80's this was my dreamcar :-) As for now, Knightrider is on Dutch television these day's and my two daughters love it. In fact, they have built they're own KITT cars themselves. Yours is truly good!
This is the best kitt i've ever seen! I'd like to give you 6/5 for this, bit I can't...
You should build more movie cars, you're good at it! Keep it up, my friend!
Maybe you have should called this "mic" !
For my inspired creation.
Hm.....
Anyway, i like it!

Awesome car! I love the color choice and the detail in the seats is AMAZING!!! Well done! Also can you check out my newest Moc. It’s called "Brothers in Arms" part eight: Defense of Kamino {part two of two}
DUDE!!!
Your MOC Page ROCKS, like none other.
I'll be playing this on headphones at work while I code on Monday.
Awesome KITT, especially the light bar.
Firas, this is EXCELLENT!!!!! I mean it!!! This is one of the coolest lego creations I have ever seen, and - oh man!!! I really don't feel good, looking at this. (IN A GOOD WAY.) I almost had a heart attack when I saw it, and - I'm at loss for words!! I mean, I haven't even taken a good look at it, but I can tell it's awesome! Especially the back; I looked at it closely and I "saw zet it wus gud". Who is that pretty, pretty lady though? Lol! I really, really hope that someday I'll be as good a builder as you. I have a feeling I won't even be close, and I'm right!! This is a masterpiece, SIR! How many times have I said that?? I don't know!! All I know is that at the moment, this is one of the few things that matter to me in this universe!! I feel faint! I can feel myself growing really light..... Everything's hazy around me except the car, and moments of my life are flashing past..... Angels are carrying me up to the heavens, and I.... Oh.... Oh, wow. I love this thing. I just love it. I am experiencing true love. Every detail of it is superbly captured. The mirrors! And how you made the kink of the B-pillar! Such details are extremely hard to capture in lego..... And the moon-eye-ish rims are amazing! I'm not sure I love the studdy interior so much, but other than that, I love this thing. I just love it. I am experiencing true love. Every detail - have I said this already? Dang, sorry. The wheelarches are official lego pieces (duuh!!) but that's still a very nice detail. Every detail in this car is amazing. I salute you and your mocing talents. This is superb. Simply superb. i bet it's not slow, either. Once again, a superb moc. Lego should hire you. 5/5! ~Raphy~
What a cool idea for a MOC, and nobody could pull it off as well as you do! Awesome. If you've got the time, could you send me a personal email? I'd like to ask you about the music (I embedded for a while, but the method I used no longer works...I'm hoping you can help me figure out how to get that rolling again.) Meanwhile, yet another GREAT moc!

Amazing! You just shock me every time you make a car. They're always just soooo prefect!!! I love how you made the scanner effect and the shape is absolutely flawless! Great work again Firas! :D
jeje, its me again, jejej, great. well. good, not, VERY good. i like the style of the interior, i dont remember it because i havent seen it since 93´or 94 (in spain) but cool, (i remember it in some chapters was in white, try to do it in white) XD im joking you cant do it only to show it,(or yes???)
XD lol loolol ...
Leo
Very nice done (good truck also btw). The scanner-thing is done very smart. I didn't recoqnised Michael right away;) Tell me Firas, how can you put so many pictures on the page? Greetings, Fred.
You are the man, Firas. Not only are your car builds consistently excellent as far as quality and attention to detail, you often go the extra mile with all the little accessory MOCs to surround them. It really adds a lot to the presentation, brings the builds to life. And I'm glad to see you modeled the original KITT here, not that new one they came out with.
PERFECTION exist and you proves it once again. KITT is sweet, the shape is a dream come true ! The action scene is a good idea, and it shows that you're an excellent builder for other things than car, the tower is great ! A fantastic tribute to a cool TV-Show !!!
Awesome and very smooth like always! I love that you uploaded the music:) That gives your MOC presentation the final cut... Is it difficult to do that? Could you explain how it works? And did you use another internet site from which you uploaded it, so there isn´t a copyright problem? Cause that was another thing I was worrying about... I´d love to add music to certain MOCs of mine - now and for future ones, but I don´t think you can use an ordinary Mp3?! Or is it okay as long as you turn it into an online stream that can´t easily be copied by others?
Back to the car: It´s so simple how you built the scanner, but I bet almost nobody would think of your idea. I was wondering as well how you did it... But it´s these simple ideas that nobody thinks of which are brilliant. The black truck next to it looks beasty as well. Are you gonna build the entire trailer from the movie, too? Best regards, Steffen
spot on. convertable, ski mode etc. I'm gonna steal your gradient method for the scanner and translucent pieces. The only small things that bug me are: the side mirrors seem much to wide/long and like the lambo you may want to start looking towards building the interiors more simple rather than busy.
Its beautiful!!! I think that bumper layout does look better than the original. Good work. Man, the car is flawless, but the presentation is phenomenal! I love the action sequence scenes in the beginning that you built. The 'scanning' effect is great and something I wouldn't have thought to include in mine. Man, makes me wish I could have finished it. Excellent work pal and thanks for including me in the design process! Peace - Patrick
