The luxury liner Chrion is refueling for an inter-planetary trip from Gemenon to Caprica. She is one of several large liners in the Pan Galactic fleet that are capable of carrying upwards of a thousand passengers. Pan Galactic hangar 03 is in the background - little do the passengers know that this hangar will be last thing on Gemenon that they see. The flight is scheduled to depart shortly. The cylons are now preparing a devastating attack on the 12 colonies that will occur over the coming centars. Today begins Chrion's long journey to Earth...
This project started out about 6 months ago as a minifig scale blue Olympic Carrier. The project was quickly shelved after realizing how much money it was going to cost. Then with the upcoming final season of Battlestar Galactica nearing, I decided to take a look at micro-sizing it. The limitation of the necessary blue pieces is why this one wound up dark red. The windows are a bit oversized but I felt it was the best solution for having windows and keeping to the overall shape of the fuselage. I think the rear section is by far my favorite part - the multiple engines and intakes are of simple design but add a lot of character. The hangar was sort of an afterthought - I had been wanting to try a diorama sometime but as you can see, my buildings leave a lot to be desired. Good thing I wasnt too attached to it as I dropped the hangar/tarmac after shooting the pics. I needed the tiles back anyway.
This rocks. I love Battlestar Galactica. Im soon going to try to build The Scylla. It isnt anything amazing, its just a small crew ship. I love your creation the olympic carrier is one of my favorites for its shape. This one is a masterpiece and tops the olympic ten fold, keep up the excellent work.
Perfect work! neat design and great overall MOC! some kind of strange though; but nice :) by the way thanks a lot for the comment on my KITT, much appreciated! keep on the great work >>> peace.. Fofo :)
Dude! Amazing ship, it looks just like the one from the series. Great job. Now build a mini raptor and viper for escorts!
If I had built my Raptor in mini-scale, I would still have enough pieces to build the entire fleet.
Kudos.
Is it a SHIP? Either way, I like it. The red and white stripes, rear engine pods, and tail fins make it look like the logical extension of a modern airliner. Great job!
