Built for the SCI-LUG 14x14 starfighter contest over on flickr. The idea is to build a starfighter that is no bigger than 14x14 studs wide or long and not more than 5 bricks high. The last two pics demonstrate the compliance to the contest guidelines.
This thing was a blast to build, and a fun challenge to figure out how to get it all to fold down and fit within a 14x14stud x 5 brick high area. It’s smaller than it sounds... The contest runs through the end of the month, so if anyone wants to give it a try, follow the link above, read the rules, and have at it!
Very original AND very cool. The combined impact of the rare color and the unorthodox use of the parts results in a fighter that doesn't remind me of anything I have seen before. I like the pics of it tucked up in the box. Attack!
Right on then! I'm expecting some great mechs from you! PS: I'd love to see you try out Izzo style mecha and Armored Core mecha. Armored Core and Izzo style are now my main mech-making style. I like how they are just the right size for my lack of parts, but use so much detail that they look like anime toys and model kits. I'd love to see how realistic yours would come out. ~Ping Phong
One of the best and most flawlessly executed designs I've seen under 50 studs- I'm nuts about this ship. The subtlety of the form is perfect, and the folding mechanism is completely original. I'm in awe :D good work!
Ryan, those pieces are snake heads from vikings. Great fighter, clever use of pieces! i love how you put the Biomask on the back end. only thing i dont like is how you didnt cover the front end. peace ~Ed
