"Mayhem at the Moon Mosque"
Date Line New Mecca, Sea of Tranquility. Al Jazeera reports "Mayhem at the Moon Mosque!" This is my entry into Keith Goldman's 'You Control the Action 2: The Heretic' contest over at CSF (Classic Space Forum)
About this creation
The famous Islamic Tactical Scientific Orange Negotiators! flew to New Mecca in the last hours of 2028 in response to a desperate summons from the ruling Lunar Mullah. Upon arrival, ITSON! learned that a man eating demonic cyborg of dubious origin had moved into the colony's new mosque. The team then employed several techniques to dispose of the intruder. ITSON! has often come under fire of late for their highly unorthodox and eclectic methods. After the battle, the team was seen supping in "The Sultans of Swing" an exclusive night club.

The first lunar mosque was completed two weeks ahead of schedule, and would be
ready to call the loyal servants of Allah to prayer in time for the new year…except for
the flesh eating demonic cyborg that had ensconced itself there during the final phases
of construction. Upon reflection, chief lunar mullah, Mohamed “Super fly” Bak’atcha, concluded That the presence of such a creature would displease the one true prophet, and he sent a “priority mucho” Transmition to the famous Moslem paladins: Islamic Tactical Scientific Orange Negotiators

ITSON! arrived from their fortress stronghold in Gibraltar within hours. Moments later they launched a withering barrage of caustic rhetoric! Then…a super nova of VIOLENCE (but the whole thing was pretty quiet because of course there was no air). The mullah had intended to fortify ITSON with selected reading from The Koran, but in his zealous haste, he grabbed a copy of the Talmud by mistake! He would later be chastised
By his peers for this blunder. ITSONs heavy weapons specialist, Iben Round, subjected the vile and unclean interloper to the merciless vacuum of space (seen here in red), but the monster refused to be sucked in by such a domestic attack.

The only female member of ITSON, Ms. Anglican Hotty attempted a more conventional attack. Her weapon (Brick Arms Desert Eagle…same weapon used by A Man Called Hawk!) was snatched up in a vice like grip of inhuman strength… and then the monster grabbed the other end!

The newist member of the team: Mustapha, AKA “Designated Driver”. He had originally hotwired these robo-enhanced not even close to autonomous, but totally overpriced tractors in order to use them as car bombs, but on his way to the fight, he began to be question the wisdom of using this type of attack at this time. It’s this ability to asses the situation and develop new course of action on the fly that has saved ITSON so many times

The business end of the Das Capitol Lunar Industries “Trilobite” Lunar Excavator

The Das Capitol Lunar Industries “Ankle Bite” Lunar Excavator. Another system in our line of unorthodox, super expensive, over specialized, and highly questionable lunar cash cows.

Mustapha controls both vehicles from the remote console. A key element to the system
is the breakthrough technology of big black numbers. These numbers are repeated on
the digital readout on the remote…so that the guy can keep track of which tractor he is
Operating. It’s simple AND fun. That’s why Mustapha is smiling. Because it’s fun! One man does the work of two...Labor Unions hate this technology and are seeking to ban both remote terminals and big black numbers on all lunar construction sites.

The flesh eating interloper was dispatched in due course, and the first lunar mosque opened on time. One animal rights protester was injured in the scuffle.

Agreed, this is a pretty rough build. It was cranked out in haste, simply so I could participate in Keith Goldman’s "You Control the Action" contest. It was a very hasty effort. So much so in fact, that I accidently disqualified myself from the contest. A rule was that you had to have an "Action Verb" in the title...Simple enough...If you read the rules! Dough! Still, it's ok for a quick laugh I suppose. Attack!

Nice! Those are some tall minarets. Interesting techniques used but i would agree the mosque itself does look a bit plain compared to your other builds. The crescent moon on the roof looks really good though, and i like that little trilobite-thing you have made too :-) The story accompanying the build is quite fun too, great work on that!
