VOAT Ice Planet "Frosty Frolicker"
"Ice ice baby..."
About this creation

Had to do a bit of research on this one as Ice Planet was a Dark Age thing to me. Reminds me a bit of that weird Autobot "Sky Lynx". The design's not very fancy but with limited blue bricks it worked out alright. Now seeing as how I'm in theme mode I'm off to look up Spyrius...ciao baby!

I love it. So awesome, but I wish I had Enough LEGO Ice Planet stuff to make something as good as this.

I still bought Lego when Ice Planet was released. Some people says the color-scheme wasnt't good, but I just love this theme. Nice little ship, with a lot of good ideas, as usual :-)

I thought I commented on this! (flickr's fault) The Ice Planet colors work perfectly for VOAT. Your solutions for the skis are flawless victories Shannon. You've closed a dark void left by your dark years by building this! :D

Very cool, the colors work perfectly! Though you don't have an 'ice planet' minifig in there...

I read the exact same thing as Dave. I find it an interesting series of coincidences that a) it sounds like "fro licker", b) it's colored like a bomb pop, and c) I just did a moc with you wearing a hellacious fro...now I know there's a joke in there somewhere, but darned if I can find it!

Great Build but every time I see a ice planet moc it reminds me of the image in one of the lego catalogues of a ice planet minifig being frozen in a block of ice. Which I tried so hard to duplicate...

I love the color scheme you have going on here. It totally reminds me of the Rocket Popscicles we had when I was a kid.

I totally misread the title here, I thought it said 'FRO Licker'...

Very nice VOAT- the Ice Planet theme has colors begging for use. And you, sir, used the colors quite well.

Zach: it stands for Variations On A Theme, as invented by the illustrious Uspez Morbo. It's basically a ship with that Blacktron style cokpit and only two colours for the build. Check out the VOAT group if your interested: http://www.mocpages.com/group.php/143

I didn't care of the ice planet theme when they were out before. I just went to Bricklink and looked at the sets. They still don't look too good. This ship is better than the stuff that came out as sets. see ya. garth

It's good to see more Ice Planet stuff, especially from you! The lack of a proper Ice Planet minifig and some different trans-colors are unfortunate, but those are my only complaints. This is great overall, and I especially like how you used those Mars Mission alien pods on the wings. After Spyrius, I think you should try Stingrays, or maybe Exploriens. I bet you would do good with Insectoids, too.

Ice Planet rocks!! looks like it would fit into the line up perfectly! Also, don't know if you know of this already, but http://www.hccamsterdam.nl/brickfactory/theme/index.htm has pretty much every instruction for all the old sets! I use it for a reference sometimes when I'm needing inspiration for older models.

I looked at this and thought, "Now what does that remind me of?" SKYLINX! Thank you! That was it! Looking forward to the spyrious stuff. My first set as an AFOL was a spirious robot. Not too sure I like the Ice Planet reference though... could be that it's just because I moved to Hoth recently and nobody bothered to tell me. I mean, I tried to go to the store a couple of days ago but my taun taun froze before I reached the first marker! ~ Chris.

Not bad. I like the use of those alien pod things from the mars sets. I also like how the back is mostly frame work, kind of like a Y-wing. Good work, ShannO!
